Mary-Cathern Edwards holds a drip a mitter at the WSU's Master Gardeners South Kitap Garden on Wednesday Sept. 23, 2009 on Olalla, WA. Instead of using a hose to water the plants and soak the ground, the drip a mitter, a gallon milk jug equipped with tiny facuets, regulates water flow. The garden, which broke ground in April and planted in May produced over 2500 pounds of fresh vegetables that were donated to the SK Helpline. n addition to providing a bounty for the needy at two area food banks, the garden allowed seven Master Gardener interns to learn new techniques.
