Swanton, (L), throws a fish in the salmon-tossing contest held in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Pike Place Market in Seattle. The public market is famous for its fishmongers who send fish flying through the air after they are purchased by customers. Swanton was the overall winner of the contest, which judged contestants' talent at both throwing and catching the slippery fish. For a century, the Pike Place Market, has become a city institution and a national attraction, bringing in over a million tourists a year. .Jim Bryant Photo. ©2010. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
