Imperial Palace, Tokyo 001.JPG
Swans swim in a moat near the Niju-Bashi, Double Bridge, on the Imperial Palace grounds in Tokyo, Japan. The Imperial Palace grounds are the site of Edo Castle, founded in the 15th century. The present Imperial Castle, situated almost in the center of Tokyo's vast urban area, was burnt down and destroyed during the Tokyo fire bombings by American bombers during World War II. A new 4,000 square meter, one-story palace was rebuilt in 1968. (Jim Bryant Photo).....
